This is a book of photographs of Silos, Barns, and other farm-related buildings, equipment, and activities in McHenry County, Illinois. I am creating it as an educational tool for the many new residents of McHenry County who do not fully comprehend how important farming and related activities are to the growth and economy of McHenry County. It includes Silos, Barns, Other Buildings, Cows and how they are related to these buildings, Farm equipment, and views of McHenry County farmland. It shows the condition of both Silos and Barns, from beautifully maintained and/or converted into practically new condition all the way to completely deteriorated Barns that collapsed at the foot of the adjacent Silo. It shows how food for cows, both hay and silage, is produced, stored, and then used to feed them. It shows very old farm equipment and the most modern, expensive equipment. It shows how some Barns have been repurposed for use on golf courses, offices, landscape businesses, storage, and even one home. It shows farm animals.
